MELISSA NGIAM
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Associate Member of the Malaysian Association of Social Workers (MASW)
A Chartered Accountant and member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Melissa joined GG in 2011 assisting in both Accounts and Partnerships Development.

Mel, as she is fondly called, now oversees all key operational functions for Yayasan Generasi Gemilang (GG) in her role as Chief Executive Officer with a drive for excellence and an eye for details. Melissa wants to redefine the perception of how social work is done.
​
Due to her work at GG, Melissa is now also a Certified CSR Manager under the MIM-ARM Certified Professional CSR Manager program in Malaysia.
When celebrating, you will find her savouring a good bar of chocolate while staying as far away as possible from birds.
OLIVIA CHEAH
Services Director
Olivia has been involved in non-profit organisations for more than 20 years. Since joining GG in 2014, she has supported GG's operations through caring for and developing its People. She was accredited as an HR practitioner with the Australian Human Resources Institute in 2016.
In 2021 she also led the Family Services team prior to being appointed as Services Director later in the year. In her current role, she oversees GG’s services and programs as she builds teams, coaches individuals and refines processes in order to better serve families in the community and impact the lives of individuals through GG’s programs.
To unwind, she explores the world of acrylic pouring art, bakes for others to see them smile, plays the piano, and occasionally challenges her teenage children to a game of Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch.
HUI PING YEW
Operations Director
Hui Ping holds 2 degrees, a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance, and a Bachelor in Holistic Nutrition. Before joining GG she spent 5 years as an accountant and another 5 years as a nutritionist.
After that, Hui Ping spent 10 years in GG and established herself as one of the longest serving staff members of GG. Most of her early years in GG were spent on being a youth trainer; she puts herself in multiple schools to bring an impact to the lives of students through character building and the sharing of life values. Now, she is the Operations Director, overseeing the finance and daily operations of GG. Her gift for handling meticulous work has ensured that all the departments can function like a well-oiled machine on a day to day basis.
A hobby that she picked up unexpectedly was reading picture books. They were initially meant for her child, but she was enticed by the beautiful art and insightful wisdom that could be gleaned from those books. Whenever she’s free, she will pick up a new book and start on a new adventure.
